All-inclusive resorts in Costa Rica on the beach

There are different types of travelers and we all do what we want and or need to do for our health, well-being and peace of mind. I'm the type of traveler who enjoys staying at an all-inclusive resort on the beach in Costa Rica. One of the best vacations I ever had was at an all-inclusive Riu Resort in Guanacaste squarely on the beach.

Costa Rica

Located in Central America, Costa Rica is a rugged, rainforested country with coastlines on both the Caribbean and Pacific oceans. In spite of the fact that Costa Rica's capital of San Jose is home to cultural institutions such as the Pre-Columbian Gold Museum, the country is known for its beaches, volcanoes, and biological diversity. Approximately one-quarter of the country's land area is covered by protected jungle, which is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including spider monkeys and quetzal birds.

What is Costa Rica Known for?

Tourism in Costa Rica is primarily based on the country's incredible national parks, where visitors can participate in thrilling activities like river rafting, canyoning, cave tubing, and zip lining excursions, among others. Animal lovers will enjoy discovering some fascinating wildlife such as macaws, sea turtles, and the adorable sloths that can be found here.

Costa Rica Beaches

There are some amazing beaches in Costa Rica. A unique feature is the fact that they have beaches that are on the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean.

Where is Costa Rica located?

No, Costa Rica is not an island, despite what you may have heard. In fact, it is located on the Central American isthmus, which connects North America and South America by a bridge. Geographically, it is considered to be a part of North America, but its cultural heritage is rooted in Latin America.

Costa Rica is bordered by Nicaragua to the north, Panama to the south, and the Pacific Ocean to the east and west. Costa Rica is bordered on the west and south by the Pacific Ocean, and on the east by the Caribbean Sea. The Pacific Ocean borders the western and southern parts of the country.

With an area of 19,700 square miles and territorial waters spanning 277 square miles, Costa Rica is the fifth largest country in the world. The highest point in Costa Rica is Cerro Chirripó, which stands at 12,530 feet above sea level; the highest volcano in the country is the Iraz Volcano, which stands at 11,257 feet above sea level. Lake Arenal is the largest lake in Costa Rica, with a surface area of 33 square miles and a depth of 200 feet. It is the country's largest natural lake. The construction of a hydroelectric dam in 1979 resulted in the lake being artificially enlarged to its current dimensions.

Geographically, it is located between 9 and 10 degrees north of the equator, within the latitudinal belt known as the Tropics, with latitude and longitude coordinates 9 and 10.

Adults seeking romance, serenity, or a combination of the two are welcome at a small boutique resort. Villa Buena Onda is nestled in a peaceful hillside setting, providing its guests with a tranquil vacation experience surrounded by breathtaking views of Papagayo Bay. This beach resort in Costa Rica has been dubbed one of the best in the world because of its excellent service, beautiful setting, and luxurious amenities.

Only eight rooms, this beautiful hideaway is an intimate retreat perfect for those who prefer not to be surrounded by other people. The suites are bright and tastefully decorated, with private patios or balconies and, of course, stunning views of the surrounding mountains. A Jacuzzi is included in the Master Suite, which also has an outdoor shower and views of the ocean.

Instead of walking along the soft sands of nearby beaches such as Playas Ocotal, Hermosa, or Coco with their hands in each other's, guests can treat themselves to a couples massage or other relaxing spa treatments at the Secreto Spa (for a fee). Although staying at this retreat makes it difficult to be stressed, it is possible. It's no surprise that it attracts a large number of repeat customers. Furthermore, having more staff than guests ensures that all of your needs will be met as quickly as possible.

Relax in the two-tiered swimming pool and enjoy a refreshing drink from the swim-up bar. Please keep in mind that due to the exclusivity of this resort, you must stay for a minimum of four nights. In addition to a la carte meals, daily housekeeping services, Wi-Fi access, and activities such as cooking classes are included in the all-inclusive rate. Do you have a large family or a group of friends with you when you travel? The entire villa can be rented out.

This 2,400-acre, environmentally conscious resort comes with a hefty price tag. In Costa Rica's North Pacific Riviera region, it stretches all the way to the pristine Playa Conchal in the province of Guanacaste. The exceptional service and lavish grounds make a stay at this resort well worth the money spent.

The lagoon-style pool at the Westin Reserva Conchal, which winds its way through tree-lined patios and is dotted with small islands inhabited by palm trees, is one of the best pools in the world to swim in. It also has a children's pool and hot tub, which makes it even more difficult to resist. Construct sandcastles on the beach, relax with a massage at the Heavenly Spa, or go golfing on the amazing golf course.

Your all-inclusive rate includes all meals, snacks, and beverages, as well as non-motorized water sports, entertainment, tennis games, access to the kids' club and fitness center, as well as a variety of fun daily activities for the whole family. Adults can also gain access to the Royal Beach Club section of the resort, which includes a private pool and a concierge service for their convenience.

Eight restaurants make it simple to tempt your taste buds with a variety of cuisines ranging from pizza to tapas to seafood to gyoza and everything in between. You will not go hungry at any point. In one of the incredibly comfortable rooms, you can recover from your overindulgence. Those traveling with children may want to consider booking a family suite, which provides more space for them to spread out.

Barceló Tambor, Tambor

Barcelo

Those looking for a holiday that is more about partying than relaxing will enjoy their stay at the Barceló Tambor. Entertaining performances are held in a 200-seat amphitheater that you won't soon forget. While visiting, guests can participate in a game of pickup volleyball, soccer, or other sports on the multisport fields, as well as archery, kayaking on the ocean, tennis and a giant chessboard, all of which are free of charge.

Those who prefer to spend their time lounging by sparkling clear water will appreciate the variety provided by two swimming pools. There is a magnificent waterfall that connects the two locations. A paddling pool is the perfect size for small children and is equipped with five jets that spray water continuously. While you're here, you can participate in an aerobics, stretching, or dance class.

Get some exercise by playing a round of golf (or three) at the nearby Los Delfines Golf & Country Club, which is only one kilometer away, or unwind in the U-Spa.

Four luxurious suites and 56 premium-level accommodations are available at the property, which has over 400 guest rooms in total. Guests can take advantage of the spectacular view from their own private balcony or terrace in each of the three buildings.

Meals are served at the buffet, and guests are also entitled to one complimentary à la carte dinner at either the El Rancho or Miyako restaurants for every two nights they are on the premises during their stay. Additionally, snacks are available at the on-site bars on a daily basis. Beverages, as well as snacks in the El Palenque bar, are included in the price.

The Barceló Tambor is a family-friendly resort that caters to those traveling with children. The Barcy Club offers a wide range of activities to keep children aged four to twelve entertained, while the Teens' House offers a variety of games, computers, music, a bungee jump trampoline, and a climbing wall to keep adolescents aged thirteen to seventeen entertained.

La Paloma Lodge, Osa Peninsula

Have you ever dreamed of sleeping high above the ground, in the rainforest's canopy? Make a reservation at the enchanting La Paloma Lodge for a memorable stay. During the day, the cacophony of tree frogs, monkeys, and macaws will lull you to sleep while the dense jungle views from your balcony will literally bring the landscape right up to your doorstep. Consider renting a one- or two-story rancho (also known as a private cabin) for extra space, especially if you're bringing along small children.

As a nature lover's paradise, this elegant retreat is not the place to stay if you're looking for a massive resort with hourly entertainment and banana boat rides. Instead, look for a more intimate retreat in a more natural setting. Welcoming you to nirvana if your goal is to take in the breathtaking scenery.

This one-of-a-kind retreat, perched on a rugged cliff overlooking the magnificent Drake Bay, is both beautiful and expensive due to its location. Two unforgettable guided experiences are included in your package: a hike to the ranger station in Corcovado National Park and snorkeling at Cano Island, both of which are included in the price.

It takes a long time to get to this destination, and each of the included activities takes about a day to complete, so you'll want to plan on spending a minimum of four nights here.

The service at this small, intimate resort is excellent (including daily deliveries of freshly brewed coffee), and meals are served communally in the resort's large on-site dining room. A beach is only a few steps away, and the pool is both refreshing in terms of temperature and setting, thanks to its tranquil setting. Take a kayaking trip, go on a night hike with the "bug lady," or take a boat trip through the mangroves to get some exercise.

Secrets Papagayo is yet another adults-only all-inclusive resort, this time located just a short 20-minute drive from Liberia International Airport in the Dominican Republic. This luxurious resort offers two pools, a fitness center, and a world-class spa, all of which can be accessed as part of the "Unlimited-Luxury®" package.

There's no need to make a reservation or sift through the buffet options at this establishment. All meals are à la carte and included in your stay, as are beverages, on-site parties, mini-bar refreshments, and a wide range of entertainment options to keep you entertained throughout your stay. Yoga, volleyball, snorkeling tours, tennis, hiking, crafts, water sports, cooking classes, and water aerobics are just a few of the complimentary activities available on the resort's property.

There are four restaurants, a café, and numerous bars on the premises, but guests are always welcome to enjoy a more romantic dinner in a more private setting, such as the beach or their room. Room service is provided 24 hours a day, seven days a week. After dinner, enjoy a themed show, dance lessons, or karaoke in the comfort of your own home.

Secrets Papagayo is a more affordable resort than some of the others on this list, and its rooms are a mix of contemporary chic and old-world charm, as well as a slew of luxurious amenities. All of the suites are quite large.

Occidental Tamarindo, Guanacaste

At this adults-only all-inclusive resort, you won't hear the pitter-patter of little feet or run the risk of getting soaked by a rogue cannonballer. Because the Occidental Papagayo is a Barceló property, you can expect excellent service, luxurious accommodations, and a spectacular natural setting. Besides enjoying peaceful moments by a quiet pool and romantic walks on a secluded beach, you can also expect uninterrupted wanderings through lush gardens thanks to the no children policy.

Take a kayaking trip on the ocean, play a game of volleyball or tennis, try your hand at archery, snorkel off the coast, or relax with a treatment (or three) at the U-spa. There are two pools to choose from for those looking to cool off - one of which offers aqua aerobics and dance classes, as well as volleyball games and is conveniently located next to a snack bar. The other pool, dubbed the relaxation pool, is well-shaded and conveniently located near the beach - the in-pool relaxation beds are absolutely wonderful!

They have a variety of food options available in four restaurants, ranging from Costa Rican cuisine, Italian dishes, and oriental dishes.
